Science communication isn't just about sharing facts. It's about igniting curiosity!
Science communication serves as a link between the complex world of scientific discovery and the general public. It democratizes knowledge, makes scientific findings accessible, understandable, and relevant to as many people as possible. Science communication, breaks down barriers of complexity and serves as a powerful tool in combating ignorance and falsehoods. Ultimately, science communication isn't just about sharing facts; it's about igniting curiosity and fostering critical thinking!
I have become a scientist because I am curious about new things. Driven by a passion for exploring future technologies and materials that hopefully will contribute to tackle global challenges, I am still amazed about the wonders of science. Experiments in space, 3D printing artificial moon particles, shooting neutrons on all kind of things. Grateful to be able to do all this for quite some time now, with the most amazing and inspiring colleagues, I want to share my curiosity and enthusiasm for science with the world be it in my podcast, public talks, or together with the colleagues from kurzgesagt on their YouTube and TikTok channels.
Please find here some of my SciComm experiences, which might help, support, or even inspire you to do science communication yourself. As usual, I would be very happy to receive feedback or connect and chat with you about your experiences as a scientist or science communicator. Feel free to drop me a message.
